Do we take the Jorf ferry?▼
No, we use the Roman causeway El Kantara. It's the historic 7 km road connecting Djerba to mainland Tunisia, built by the Romans in the 3rd century. Advantages: faster (no waiting like at the ferry), more picturesque (panoramic view over the lagoon and pink flamingos).
What is pain el malla?▼
It's the ancestral Bedouin bread of the Tunisian desert, baked directly in embers and sand without oven or mould. As night falls, the campsite chef gives you a live demonstration: dough preparation, burial in embers, slow cooking, then tasting whilst hot as an aperitif. Crispy outside, soft inside — an age-old skill passed down through generations.
Are all meals really included? What if I have specific dietary requirements?▼
Yes, 100%. Meals included: 2 lunches (at Chenini day 1, at Sidi Driss day 2), 1 Berber dinner at the campsite, 1 traditional breakfast facing the dunes. Tasting of olive oil + honey + tabouna bread at the Berber family in Matmata.

No, these are extras to discuss on site with your guide. At Ksar Ghilane, several local providers offer quad bikes and camel rides at sunset. Your driver-guide books them in advance for you, saving you waiting time and queuing. Indicative rates: 1.5-hour camel ride ≈ 25-30 €/person, 30-min quad ≈ 35-40 €/person (payment direct to local provider on site).

What should I bring?▼
Essential: closed-toe shoes, warm clothing for the night (jumper/fleece + long trousers, even in summer — it can be 8-10 °C at night), swimming costume (thermal spring), lightweight towel, headlamp, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat or chèche, identity documents.

At Chenini, Tamazret, Matmata and Toujane: 4G everywhere. At Ksar Ghilane and the campsite: light 3G/4G but present, works for WhatsApp and photos. Electricity at campsite: 220V sockets in the restaurant tent to charge phones.
