Kesra has been inhabited since Antiquity by Berbers. Under Rome, it was a frontier garrison (visible remains). In the Middle Ages, the Berber village developed upwards for defence. Under French protectorate, a modest summer resort. Today, an authentic village preserved from mass tourism.
